Hi everyone,
I’m part of this housing association forum because I’ve lived in social housing most of my life, and lately I’ve been thinking seriously about becoming a lawyer, particularly in housing or community law.
I see so many neighbours struggle with evictions, disrepair, benefits issues, and legal jargon that feels designed to shut people out. I’d love to be someone who actually understands the system and can help others navigate it.
That said, I don’t come from money, I’m a mature student, and university feels intimidating. Is it realistic? Has anyone here gone into law from a similar background? Any advice on routes, costs, or whether it’s worth it would be appreciated.
